Job Title: Yard and Dock Hand

Need: Immediate

Location: Champlain Marina, Colchester, VT

Champlain Marina is searching for a motivated and reliable individual to act as a marina yard and dock hand. This position will work closely with the general manager and other marina staff to ensure that boats are hauled and launched in a safe and efficient manner. Higher pay opportunities available for applicants with heavy equipment and/or marina experience.

Additional duties in the spring and fall will include dock commissioning, and dock setup and removal. During the summer months this position will fill a variety of roles depending on current requirements which could include boat launching and hauling, fuel dock service, and general property maintenance. Full time employment is available April 1st through early November. Employment beyond those dates and growth within the company is available for the right individual. Compensation is commensurate with experience, starting at $17/hour, with year end bonus available for successful completion of season and return in the spring.

Requirements:

• Ability to work in a fast paced environment outside for up to 10 hours a day

• Ability and willingness to work in all Vermont weather conditions

• Basic customer service skills

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Ability to work in tight spaces

• Ability to lift 50lbs

• Ability to ascend and descend a ladder

• Basic computer skills

• Written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work with basic hand tools

Desired Qualifications:

• Forklift experience a plus

• Basic boat handling skills a plus

• Marina or boat yard experience

• General boating or nautical knowledge
